Mayor appoints commission for planning zoning

Mayor Harvey Smith appointed a Planning and Zoning Commission for Pleasant Grove with Lewis Harmer as chairman. The four year and two year terms run from January 1, 1948, and members include Ernest Morgan Irwin Jensen C A Garnett and John S Green. The panel will study city development and work with the council to guide future growth in Utah County's Pleasant Grove.

Bishops Party In First Ward Hall Sparks Community Gathering

Driggs Attends Cattle Pioneer Monuments Dedications

Grain Price Support Planned via Agreements in 1948 Utah

J Hart Smith chairing the County Agricultural Conservation Committee says farmers will receive price support for 1948 crops wheat corn oats barley rye and grain sorghums through purchase agreements and commodity loans. Loans require on farm storage. purchase options let producers set max delivery and sell at market or deliver to CCC. CCC accepts under purchase agreements within 30 days after 1948 loan maturity of April 30, 1949, or earlier on demand. Rates: wheat 1.83, oats and barley 1.03 per bushel. corn price at 90 percent of parity as of October 1.
