Congressman Bob Sikes presented the first copy, praising JA and noting the learning of business and free enterprise. The calendar, priced at $1.25, covers monthly playground activities and is sold house to house by students.

Fort Walton Beach hosts its annual Christmas parade at 6 p m with Congressman Bob Sikes as honored guest riding a float. Children ride floats from 5 15 p m assembly at the Community Center, then the procession follows Main Street Perry Avenue First Street to Eglin Parkway. Okaloosa School Board Sues Over Millage Rollback Law
Okaloosa County School Board filed suit in Leon County Circuit Court challenging the 1965 millage rollback law. Attorney Erwin Fleet argues the constitution fixes three to ten mills and clerical limits violate the mandate to provide free schools. The board now can levy up to 4.439 mills without exceeding constitutional bounds.

Navy shifts 6200 personnel to Vietnam war effort
The Navy moves 6,200 petty officers and enlisted sailors from Atlantic and Pacific fleets to reinforce the battleship New Jersey and meet wartime demands. Panama City Beach Sold For Estimated Two Million
Panama City Beach changed hands in what may be Bay County’s largest single property deal. J R Arnold bought the incorporated beach town from Mrs A W Pledger Sr for more than 2 million, gaining Gulf front land 1 mile, 31 buildings, a 900 foot Gulf pier, and the city charter. The sale was handled by Sam B Wearn.

Fort Walton Beach Mother Dies in Headon Crash
A Fort Walton Beach mother of three, Mrs. Nicholas H. Perrotto, was killed instantly when her small car in the eastbound lane collided head on with a large semi truck on Highway 98 four miles west of Hurlburt. The crash took over two hours to free the car from beneath the truck. Funeral services will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church, with burial at Beal Memorial Cemetery. Mrs Perrotto is survived by her husband and three sons, plus relatives in Long Island.

Pilot Killed In Jet Crash Over Gulf of Mexico
A Navy student aviator died when his T B Buckeye jet trainer crashed in the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola. The pilot’s name was withheld pending relatives’ notification. the crash occurred during approach to Forrest Sherman Field and is under investigation.
