In Lancaster county district court a $50,000 damage suit brought by August Brehm as administrator against Frank Lanning and Cass County Nebraska was dismissed as to the county after County Attorney W G Ibeck argued the Cass County demurrer. The court sustained the demurrer and the county was removed from the case in a notable victory for the county attorney.

Julius Pepperberg Dies at Son's Dallas Home
Julius Pepperberg a Plattsmouth native and pioneer cigar maker died in Dallas Texas at his son Roy Pepperberg's home after a two year illness. He came to Plattsmouth in 1869 started a local cigar factory later moved plant to Lincoln and Linwood then retired leaving a son Roy in charge. Survived by Abram J Leon J Roy V three sons and several grandchildren. he was active in Masonic affairs and Republicans and served during the Spanish American War.
