Korn Karnival Opens With Crowned Monarchs of Kornland

King Arthur Hild and Queen Eleanor Swatek crowned for the year in Korn Karnival ceremonies in Plattsmouth Cass County. More than 7 000 residents gathered on Main Street Fifth and Main to witness the coronation with a 10 piece Freddie Ebener orchestra and a drum corps escort.

Tritsch Child Wins Second in Cass County Healthy Baby Contest

Marion Tritsch, two year old son of Mr and Mrs Elmer Tritsch, earned second place in the Cass county healthy baby contest at the fair. He received a red ribbon for being the next healthiest baby.

Karnival Babies Celebrate 1923 Births at Karnival Event

The Karnival program honors boys and girls born in 1923 with a Friday assembly at 2 45 pm. Three sets of twins are noted among the attendees. Prizes include treats for each child and special awards for the tallest and shortest. Burlington train rides are offered with Conductor Everett Gooding ensuring safety. Parents are urged to attend.

Burlington Trains Prove Highlight of Korn Carnival

The Burlington railroad donated two miniature passenger and freight trains arrive for the korn carnival. The trains will be ready for the first day festivities and children in the parade on Wednesday will receive first rides, with all locals and visitors invited to enjoy trips.

Henry Atterback of South Sixth street was taken to Kani hospital, Omaha, Monday night by Sattler ambulance after suffering a slight stroke requiring hospital care.

Pioneer Resident Alvin Graves Dies at Rock Bluffs Home

Alvin S Graves 80 a Nebraska pioneer passed away at the family home in Rock Bluffs after months of illness. Born Sept 15 1857 in Mills County Iowa he lived in Plattsmouth Bellevue Yakima and finally Rock Bluffs where he farmed with his son Perry. Survived by widow Anna three sons Andrew Alvin and Perry two siblings Judge Charles L Graves and Mrs Mary Burnett. Body brought to Horton funeral home.

Eight Pound Daughter Born at Clarkson Hospital Omaha

Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Boedeker II of Murray welcomed an eight pound daughter at 10 p.m. Monday at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. The baby is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Boedeker and Rev. and Mrs. Stewart of Murray.

Spangler Family Reunion Held at Hastings Iowa

The Spangler descendants met at Hastings Iowa to hold their annual reunion at the home of Dent Hites. Forty seven members attended with baskets for a noon dinner. Young Frances Elizabeth Griffin Weds George O Winscott

Miss Frances Elizabeth Griffin and George O. Winscott married Saturday at 7 pm in the home of Mrs. E M Griffin. The Rev J W Taenzler officiated at the First Christian church ceremony attended by relatives. The bride, a 1934 local graduate, worked at the Nebraska Masonic Home. the groom, a 1930 graduate, works in gas and oil. They will reside with the bride’s mother in the near term.

Robertson II Returns to Duty at Naval Academy

James M. Robertson II leaves after a three week visit with his parents Attorney and Mrs W A Robertson and local relatives. He departs for Annapolis Maryland to resume duties as a member of the United States Naval Academy. He enjoyed time with friends and associates during his leave.
