Two Boys Found Dead Near Havelock

A 16 year old and a 9 year old from Havelock were found dead in a pasture north of the city after going missing Thursday. Coroner ordered an inquest and post mortem as police consider heat prostration, accident, or foul play. Various theories circulate among residents as investigations continue.

Government completes major improvements at rifle range north of city

Work at the government rifle range north of town included five permanent concrete butts at 1000, 800, 500 and 300 yards with reinforced target houses, a range office on the hill, grading and plowing of grounds, and field firing lines. McLaughlin of Red Oak Iowa won the contract for concrete work and J H McMahen of this city handled grading and hauling with 6 to 15 teams and 12 to 50 workers over about four months at a total cost around 30000 dollars with 20000 spent locally.

Barger and Renland Bride Quiet City Wedding

A quiet Friday evening home wedding united Mr Earl Barger and Miss Josie Renland at the grooms parents home on Vine street. County Judge Allan J Beeson officiated with Roy Renland as best man and Villa Barger as bridesmaid. The couple will reside in Plattsmouth and start housekeeping in Coates block. Out of town guests included H H Barger of Derby Iowa and L E Barger and baby of Osceola Iowa.

Ingram Undergoes Eye Obstruction Operation

A J Ingram of Ava Wyoming and his wife visiting Mr and Mrs Briggs traveled to Omaha where Dr Gifford performed an operation for a long growing eye obstruction. The surgeon says removal was partial but should not impair sight and may be fully removed later.

Speeding Fined In Nehawka Streets Incident

Justin Sturm of Nehawka was arraigned in Justice M. Archer’s office on a Nebraska speed law violation involving a motorcycle. He was fined 5 and costs totaling 42.50 and warned to curb speed as residents complain of racing on main streets amid local regulatory gaps.

Lorimer Pastor Term Reduced to Two Months

The Journal reports Rev. Lorimer will extend as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church for two months instead of one year. Clarence Busche Injured in Straw Bale Accident

Yesterday noon at H. M. Soennichsen store on Main Street Clarence Busche was moving baled straw when a forklift tine pierced his right knee. He required a surgeon to treat the ugly wound and expects to be out of work for several days.

Opening Dance of the Season at Coates Hall

The opening dance of the fall season at Coates hall by the G Cosmopolitan club drew a large crowd despite extreme heat. The Holly orchestra provided music and the selections were well received by the attendees.
