Julius Helflicker of a few miles west of Plattsmouth was thrown from a load of lumber when his team shied at an object. He suffered a torn ear, bruises on his face, and a discolored eye, with initial fears of a head injury but he stabilized by morning. Philip Tritsch assisted and drove him home.
William Brady appeared before Judge M. Archer on a drunk charge and pleaded guilty. Police found him trying to climb lamp posts on Main Street to brighten the lights and escorted him to Hotel Manspeaker. He claimed Omaha as his home and that he came to shuck corn, work to start immediately. the judge fined him $2 plus costs, but released him on good behavior since he had only $2.
