Plattsmouth High School earned the Nebraska N Club bronze plaque for scholastic excellence among athletic lettermen for the third time in five years and second consecutive year. Coach Henry Schulte organized the club to reward high classroom averages, with 11 lettermen named and an average grade of 87.4 while the school average stood at 82.5.

A free pancake demonstration Saturday served up about 5000 pancakes from start to finish. John Rishel won the pancake eating contest by finishing eighteen cakes with syrup and coffee.
