Plattsmouth ministers met at Rev G A Pahl home to organize two observances. On Sunday at 2 p m a half hour of prayer will be held in the Episcopal church for world peace and remembrance of the dead. On Wednesday November 28 Canon Potter will preach at a 7 30 p m community Thanksgiving service in the Presbyterian church with strong attendance expected.

Former resident trapped in Omaha fire flames engulf four room bungalow
A four room bungalow at 1501 Hiatt Ave Carter Lake burned after an explosion while a gasoline stove was lit. Mrs. Hessing and her two children Jacqueline 3 and Jean 4 were rescued by her husband who was badly burned. The family, formerly Lorene Windham, lost most possessions and were treated at Lord Lister hospital.

Cass County Returns Strong Democratic Victory In Key Races
In Tuesday’s election Cass county backed the Democratic state ticket led by Edward R. Burke over Robert Simons by 3 122 votes. Burke carried U S Senate race while Roy Cochran led Dwight Griswold by 242. Prohibition repeal and pari mutuel betting won by about 700. Sheriff Homer Sylvester won re election by 1619 with third ward pending. Alpha Peterson and other local races favored democrats with narrow county margins in state representative and other posts.
