John Roeber Dies Near Louisville After Lingering Illness
John Roeber aged 71 years 4 months and 27 days died last Tuesday after a lingering Brights Disease. He was born in Charlottenhal Germany June 4 1850 and came to America in 1884 with his wife and three children. He lived west of town on a farm for over thirty years and helped care for his ailing wife. Survived by his widow and six children Chas of Lamont Ill Mrs Louis Neuman and Mrs Fred Neiman of Murdock Mrs Julius Komrofski of Hastings Louis of South Bend and Herman of Louisville. Funeral at the Lutheran church Thursday afternoon with Rev T Hartman officiating.

Large Hog Kills Valuable Mare in Hog Lot
In Elmwood, a 600 pound boar attacked a valuable mare after Wat son Jones unhitched his team. The horse sustained severe abdominal injuries and was killed on the scene. The boar remained aggressive and was penned up after the incident.
