Plattsmouth High School Grants Largest Class in History

The Plattsmouth high school commencement celebrated eighty two graduates, the largest class to finish twelve years of schooling. Speakers included Miss Mary Jane Mark and Miss Edna Mae Petersen with addresses by Dr. G. W. Rosenlof.

Closing of the School Year at Parochial School

St John s parochial school held closing exercises at the Knights of Columbus hall with students from primary to eighth grade participating in plays and a three act drama. Valedictory by Betty Jo Libershal praised teachers and parents. Father McFadden urged continued religious study and remarked on church school roles and separation of church and state. Awards were distributed by Monsignor Agius to many students with prizes for general excellence penmanship catechism and perfect attendance.

Funeral of Mrs Adams Held at First Presbyterian

The funeral for Mrs. William T. Adams was at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr H G McChuisky officiating. The Eastern Star quartet and Mr Cook performed pieces, and interment followed at Horning cemetery beside her husband. Pallbearers included E H Spangler Roy O Cole Walter Propst John E Turner and George R Sayles.

DIES AT MASONIC HOME Maria Biggs dies at 72 in Omaha residence

Mrs. Alice M. Biggs died Wednesday night at the Nebraska Masonic Home where she resided since February 11 1937. Born May 14 1865 in Springfield Illinois she lived in Omaha with her husband Albert Biggs. Body sent to Omaha for funeral at Prospect Hill Cemetery.

Duxbury Family Home After 6000-Mile Outing Across States

Judge and Mrs. A H Duxbury and children Dorothea Mae and Richard finished a 6000 mile auto trip through twenty states, highlighted by attendance at the American Red Cross convention in Washington. The journey included stops in Hannibal Salem Bardstown Lexington Winchester Luray Annapolis Harrisburg and Quebec among others.

Ad Club Debates Occupation Tax and Budget Safeguards

The Ad Club discussed the occupation tax with City Clerk A Olson explaining uncollected funds and their use. It recommended keeping funds in the business fund and not transferring to other accounts, while other agenda items were referred to committees and event proceeds were reported.

Soldiers Cause Disturbance At Fort Crook Tavern

Soldiers from Fort Crook clash with Officer Jarvis Lancaster in an all night tavern incident. A punch is thrown, a skirmish follows, and the group is jailed then handed over to Fort Crook authorities for punishment.

Funeral for George P. Meisinger at St. Pauls Church

Funeral services for the late George P. Meisinger were held Friday at St. Pauls Evangelical Church where he had long been a member. A large gathering of friends attended, with Rev. G A Pahl delivering a sermon from St. Johns Sixteenth chapter and the choir singing Asleep in Jesus and Nearer My God to Thee. Interment followed at Glendale cemetery near Cedar Creek.

Plattsmouth High School Honors Students At Final Convocation

The final convocation awarded athletic, commercial, and music honors to Plattsmouth High School students. Football, basketball, and track letters were earned by seniors Max Seitz Wayne Falk and sophomore Warren Reed among others.
