A Swedish Mission church ladies gathering at Mrs. Albin Neilson’s cozy home drew a large attendance. Attendees enjoyed sewing and refreshments and thanks were extended to the host for her hospitality.

Yesterday afternoon Miss Mathilde Soennichsen hosted a kitchen shower for Miss Bess Edwards in preparation for her June wedding. Guests filled a blank Life of Bess Edwards book with pictures, enjoyed a luncheon, music, and gifts as the bride-to-be opened packages for her new home.
From Friday's Dayl the Central building pupils presented a musical praised by students and teachers. The varied program featured numbers like Sleeping Beauty, Sunlight Waltz, Battle of Waterloo, Dreaming, and Parade. Performers included Ina Crook, Olga Tiekotter, Fay Cobb, Beatrice Seybert, and Katherine Waddick.

The Kera Star held a largely attended meeting at the Masonic building on Wednesday evening. Three new members Mrs W E Roséncrans Mrs John Weyrich and Miss Ruth Johnson were initiated. A banquet followed with speeches by members and lively socializing led by Mrs Z Petersen worthy matron of Home Chapter. The session was memorable and pleased all attendees.
OO Ko Parmele reveals a new carriage addition to his livery establishment. The creation will be ready for patrons soon and is described as a proud enhancement to the service.
This morning Mr. I. 4B. Thom as, who has been delivering lectures here for the Burlington Safety Bureau for the past few days, departed for Havelock to arrange meetings there next week. His talk drew 434 attendees, and the Safely First cause benefited from the city visit of the car and the able lecturer.
Taxpayers urge city officials to repair damaged bridges on Locust Street and other streets in Plattsmouth. They claim neglect delays fixes that could be completed quickly with minimal cost, warning ongoing road-fund mismanagement risks greater expense.
The Daly reports a Friday exhibition by the public schools penmanship and art departments in the Ailey block room next to the old post office. Works from various students are shown with notable pieces by Ellar Windham and Marie Rauchrain. Eliot Windham, art instructor, and Miss Rauchrain, penmanship instructor, supervise and invite attendance.
The Burlington depot project in the city will restart with a 34 foot north extension and added interior changes. A west side passageway will link two waiting rooms, new toilet facilities, extended north office, and a rebuilt platform with 200 feet of northward extension and track switches to improve service for employees and travelers.
From Saturdays Daily Yesterday the Bestor school district west of the city held a picnic at the grove by the schoolhouse to mark the close of the year. Miss Nova Batton organized a program that the pupils performed well before sixty attendees enjoyed games and a big picnic dinner under the trees.
Mrs A I Gass hosted a lively Saturday evening gathering at her home in the south park area. Neighbors enjoyed a chatty can ner and a fascinating game lasting several entertaining hours with tempting refreshments served.
