Plattsmouth dock project wins WPA approval
A. K. Donovan announced WPA approval for a Missouri River dock and warehouse at Plattsmouth Nebraska. The project includes a 250 by 56 foot dock a 30 by 200 foot warehouse and related roadwork with total costs expected around 65 75 thousand dollars and bids to open soon with 100 workers expected by June 1938.

Tarkio College Names George Adam Track Captain 1938
George Adam a Tarkio College junior and Plattsmouth high school graduate of 1923 has been elected captain of the Tarkio College track team for 1938. He has competed in low hurdles and relay, earned two football letters as a guard, and sings in the glee club and gospel quartet. Despite work to pay education, he ranks in the top fifteen percent of his class and has appeared on the scholastic honor roll. The team finished second in the Missouri conference this year, and next spring he will lead 11 veterans including former Plattsmouth teammates Dean Conner and Stuart Porter.

Returns From Honolulu Highlight Miss Ofe’s Trip Observations
Mrs. E. G. Ofe returned Tuesday from a three month stay in Honolulu Hawaii. She visited sister and brother in law Warrant Officer and Mrs. Bergeron and noted vivid island flowers deep reddish brown soil and a constant 70 to 85 degree climate with fine misty rain. The group swam at Christmas and observed more oriental residents than whites, many connected to the military. The ocean was warmer than the air. Travel home took five days by ocean, then Molola to Los Angeles, with a month in Oceanside Los Angeles and San Diego. Weather in California was cooler than Hawaii. She arrived in Omaha at 8:05 on the Union Pacific Challenger.

Dentists Return From Nebraska State Dental Society Session
Plattsmouth dentists came back from the Omaha convention praising a very fine session. The event drew 560 registered dentists, the largest turnout in a decade, with emphasis on child health and preventive dentistry throughout the meetings.

Hearing On License for Lincoln Retail Liquor Store
Mayor George Lushinski City Attorney J Howard Davis and Councilman John E Schutz attended a Lincoln hearing before the State liquor commission on Joseph Lapidus request for a retail package liquor store license. The council had previously not approved the application due to a city ordinance limiting package stores. Lapidus and counsel presented their case to the commission.

Mont Robb of Union Dies After Five Months Ill
Mont Robb a pioneer of northern Otoe and southern Cass counties died at Union after five months of critical illness. He was a longtime Republican leader and former state penitentiary steward, born August 14 1854 in Muncy Pennsylvania. He helped found Wyoming precinct and lived in Plattsmouth and Union, with three children surviving.
