District Judge H D Travis is reported to be ill with pneumonia in Tampa Florida after traveling south for health. The card from his son Hay indicates he is able to sit up briefly and plans to return home once strength returns.
A Burlington freight train No. 73 burned out a journal on a wheel near La Platte at noon, blocking the line for hours until a new wheel set could be installed. Yardmaster Johnson ordered the stub to La Platte to connect with No. 24 and shuttle Omaha passengers to Pacific Junction for transfer to the metropolis.
Judge Cochran denied the request to set aside a parental property transfer in Kate Hoenshell versus Archibald Hoenshell. The Turners defeated the second team 34 to 19, and the High School alumni battled the regular team to a 28 to 26 finish in favor of the High School squad. This marked the season’s final game as the High School outfit showed strong form despite some tough showings from the alumni.

Dr. W. B. Cook received a noon message announcing the death of his niece Miss Elizabeth Cook at her Salam Town home from pneumonia. The loss is a sad blow to relatives and friends and Dr. and Mrs. Cook will travel to Salam Town tomorrow evening for the funeral.
Saturday's Daily reports the Boetel family welcoming a new baby at the home of son Frank Boetel and his wife in the north part of the city. Mrs Boetel and the infant are doing well as Frank receives many congratulations from friends.
C C Belden of Omaha addressed the Builders class at the Presbyterian church on the theme The Merchant. He traced his journey from Youngstown to Omaha and outlined the core of a successful career a strong Christian character. A solo by Miss Mathilde Vallery and a luncheon for attendees concluded the evening.
Yesterday afternoon Prank Ohm a Burlington shop sioner fell from a conch top while working. He suffered a severe scalp wound and general bruising but no serious injuries are expected. He will be laid up several days.
The Plattsmouth Commercial Club met Friday amid cold conditions with strong attendance. President Schneider led routine business, a report on train service improvements from Missouri Pacific officials pleased members, and plans to back new industry projects were discussed with the committee.
