Purse Snatcher Operates in This City
Mrs. M P Fleming lost her purse near 10th and Main street when a stranger grabbed it and fled. Elmer Elliott and Mr. Lawrence Sprecher pursued but the thief disappeared after leaping a fence. The purse and about eight dollars were found. Mrs. Fleming had reported twenty three dollars originally. Authorities continued searching for the medium height stout man in a lumber jacket.

Funeral of William Morley Held Monday
Funeral services for William Morley were held at St. Johns Catholic church on Monday morning. The pallbearers were Edward Schulhof Orville Kintz Charles Strastka Joe Weber Charles McGuire and John Bergman. Morley was born in Ireland February 1 1858 and died recently after thirty years with the C B Q railroad. He married Joanna OBrien in 1889 and leaves a widow two daughters a brother and four sisters. The community extends sympathy to the family.

Early Plattsmouth Native Dies in Oklahoma
Mrs. Julia Thomas of Omaha visited in Plattsmouth last week and recalled her trip to Alma Oklahoma where her cousin Charles Ramey died. Ramey was an early Burlington yard master in Plattsmouth and left in 1884. His wife Alma Chandler grew up in the city and both were remembered by longtime residents.

Graveling of the Louisville Road Nears Completion
The Good Roads committee of the Plattsmouth Chamber of Commerce led by H. A. Schneider plans graveling six miles of the Louisville road from Chicago Avenue to Eight Mile Grove precinct line. With county aid matches and near full local support, graveling could start soon and finish within weeks, delivering an all weather route to Lincoln.

Falls City Hosts District Two Commercial Contest
The annual district two commercial contest will be held in Falls City on Friday March 21. Plattsmouth will be represented by Josephine Janda and Katheryn Hild in bookkeeping shorthand and type writing. Mr. Cunningham heads Plattsmouth's commercial department and will also serve as secretary of commercial district two, linking school and teacher organization efforts. He has prior experience at North Bend and West Point, and the Plattsmouth department credits its strong showing this year to his leadership and that of Mr. Starrett.

The body of the late V. M. Mullis was brought to this city Tuesday afternoon from Omaha where services were held at 2 o'clock at the Moore chapel and interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery. A brief service was conducted here by the IL C O F lodge, of which Mullis was a longtime member.

Death of Old Time Resident of Cass County
Noah Crabtree 78 of Maywood Nebraska died February 22 1923 after a life rooted in Cass county. Born April 20 1851 in Ohio he moved with family to Rock Bluffs and later joined the Christian church at Rock Creek before settling in Maywood. He married Alma Bates in 1883 and left a large family including four children and thirteen grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Maywood Christian church conducted by the IOOF and the Maywood cemetery burial followed.
