Death of J R Bates former Choo County resident
An obituary from Vindas's Daily reports the death of J R Bates in Wallula Washington a few days ago. Born June 17 1812 near Oswego New York he lived in Cass county Nebraska in Eight Mile Grove from 1860 until Civil War service. He married Mary K Tape in 1806 and had nine children five survive with his brother J F Bates in this city and a sister in The Dells Wisconsin Fathers death noted as a sudden breath stoppage.
