Ann Smith White a longtime Cass County resident born in Kentucky in 1823, died after months of illness. She married Iven S. White in 1854 and moved to Nebraska in 1856 near Rock Bluffs. Survived by son Mark White, daughter Celiccia Hiatt, eight grandchildren, and a brother Howell Smith. Her Christian faith and family devotion marked a quiet frontier life.

Grace E. Bailey of Alvo and Henry L. Clapp Jr. of Elmwood were married Saturday at 2 p m in the Methodist Episcopal church University Place. Rev P Van Fleet performed the ceremony.
