The student council at Plattsmouth High School presented a Monday 9 o'clock convocation featuring the Parkinson Music Ensemble. The group played double reed instruments including oboe English horn bassoon and clarinet. Stuart Sedlak presided and ensemble members are nationally recognized as top young artists.

Asgis S. Will aged 91 died February 22 1939 at Hennessey Oklahoma where he had been living with his son Fred Will and family He was born April 23 1848 in Highland County Virginia married June 16 1870 to Barbara Harold They moved west in 1883 settling in Cass County later retiring to a Chicago Avenue home In 1922 they moved to California He leaves five sons and three daughters among them Fred Newton Grover Tom Dora Minnie and Robert Will Funeral services were held in Hennessey with burial planned in California beside Mrs Will.

Mrs Frank Kozak Dies at Home in West City
Mrs Anna Kozak wife of Frank Kozak died this morning at 8 10 at the family home on Vine street after a brief illness. She suffered a stroke Friday and a heart attack at dawn ended her 53 years and five days. She was born February 22 1886 in Austria Hungary and came to America in 1906 settling in Plattsmouth Nebraska. She married Frank Kozak on June 14 1915 and leaves husband two sons James and Charles a daughter Mrs Dillard Wales and siblings in Missouri and Nebraska with an aged aunt surviving. The death removes a kind mother and homemaker from the family.

Still Suffering Burns From Bates Building Fire
Hillard Grossman remains under treatment for burns suffered while fighting the Bates building blaze last week. His left ear and side of the face stay painful and swollen, requiring facial bandaging for some time, though he continues to manage work at the Bates Book and Stationery store.

Funeral services held for Martin Fred Ruby at Mynard
Funeral services for Martin Fred Ruby 30 were held Tuesday afternoon at the United Brethren church in Mynard with Rev. Paul Dick leading. A mixed quartet sang three selections and pallbearers included Chester Wiles and others. Burial will follow later at the morning cemetery when weather allows. He was born October 18 1908 at Cherlin Kansas and died February 25 1939 in Lincoln Nebraska. He leaves his parents one sister two nieces and one nephew and grandparents Mr and Mrs M L Ruby of McCook.

Death of Mrs Gentry Called Family to West Plains
Mr and Mrs Fred Howland and family and Mr and Mrs Earl Shanholtz and family were summoned to West Plains Missouri Saturday by the sudden death of Mrs Gentry mother of Mrs Howland and Mrs Shanholtz. The heart attack caused her death. The deceased was also mother of Mrs Con Lynch and Charles Gentry who formerly lived here and now reside in Washington.

Plattsmouth basketball team beat West Point 41 to 26 in the Fremont tournament opening round. Funeral of Robert Shrader Held at Mrs Creamer’s Farm
