At a special stockholders meeting in Auburn the Southeastern Nebraska Building and Loan Association voted to merge with the Nebraska City Federal Savings and Loan Association. Nebraska City acquires Southeastern’s mortgage loans while Auburn sells its remaining real estate to liquidate assets for stockholders. State banking officials approved the merger as a fair, efficient way to realize total asset value. W. H. Pitzer, president and manager of Nebraska City, serves as a director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka.

Aged Man Dies in Nebraska Nursing Home
Robert Farmer aged 66 died last night at the Austin nursing home after months of poor health and blindness. Born November 19, 1872 in Lincoln he lived in Lincoln South Bend and Greenwood before moving to Greenwood in 1927 and later to the nursing home. He was formerly married and is survived by brothers and a sister living at distant points.
