Eight Mile Grove Lutheran Sunday School Picnic

The Eight Mile Grove Lutheran Church Sunday school held its annual picnic on the church lawn. A large crowd enjoyed a program of music and recitations by many young participants. August Keil reported on the Midwest Synod gathering held May 18 22. A basket dinner followed and the afternoon featured social games.

Miss Dorothy Siemenelt, a well known Cass county teacher, is in Immanuel hospital in Omaha after an operation for appendicitis on Tuesday. She is recovering well and hopes to return home soon.

Aged Henry Hastings Visits Omaha with Rawls and Davis

Mr and Mrs C A Rawls and attorney J Howard Davis spent Wednesday afternoon in Omaha visiting 103 year old Henry Hastings at the Florence Home. Hastings is a longtime friend of Mr Rawls and remains mentally clear and engaged in country affairs. The Flattemouth party escorted Hastings from his former home to Council Bluffs for a brief visit.

Crop statistician Cromwell visits for crop outlook

R. O. Cromwell a former Weeping Water resident and current Lamson Bros. statistician in Chicago spent Thursday in the city. He travels from South America to Canada gathering crop data for his firm. Despite some spotting in wheat, prospects look for an excellent crop.

Friday update reports seven year old Rosemarie Salerno daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Salerno underwent a tonsillectomy this morning at Dr O C Hudson s office. She is rallying well. Lone Tree lodge of Central City A F and A M hosted a reception for Walter Raecke newly installed grand master of the Nebraska Masons.
