Anna Eva Meisinger born 1838 in Ballstein Germany came to America at 15 settling near Pekin Illinois. She married J B Meisinger in 1856 and moved to Cass County Nebraska in 1872 where they farmed. Ten children seven survive her. nineteen grandchildren. The Journal extends sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.

Funeral for Edith Boetel at Oak Hill Cemetery
At the home of Mr and Mrs Frank Boetel the funeral was held for their daughter Edith who died Wednesday from spinal meningitis after a three to four week illness. Rev A L Zink preached a touching sermon about sorrow and hope in a Christ centered reunion. Interment followed in Oak Hill cemetery.

Thomas Wiles Injured In Serious Log Haul Accident
Thomas Wiles of the Weeping Water area suffered a severe head wound when a log lifting setup struck him while loading at his mill two miles west of town. He remained unconscious for some time and his condition was reported serious by relatives visiting from Weeping Water during the academy exercises.

Rat Traps Snare Fourteen Rats Hidden in Hardware Store
A half dozen large wire trap units were unpacked at Auer Hardware when a dog led John Bauer Jr into the store. The traps were found to contain fourteen rats beneath a row of ranges, surprising staff who had placed traps to clear pests rather than for capture.

Accident injures four year old at loading bay
