Henry Dooley Dies After Sand Pit Swim
Henry Dooley an 18 year old boy died suddenly after swimming in a hot sand pit near the city. He and friends cooled off in the pit when he appeared to drown and later died from a heart attack likely caused by overheating and cold water shock. Funeral services were held at the Holiness church in South Park conducted by John Brandt.

A five piece Casper and Nebraska youth jazz orchestra led by George Cook departs Saturday for six weeks in Paris and other European cities. William Brady, a Natrona county high school graduate, will join the University of Nebraska, while the other members studied at Nebraska University. They plan to sail from New York July 65 on the Volendam, head to Paris, and return from Rotterdam August 16, aiming to perform at a leading Paris hotel.

Commissioners Decide to Vacate Louisville Road
The Cass County Board orders vacation of a short section of Louisville road leading to the wagon bridge and shifts traffic to the new site. A new steel and concrete two car bridge will be built with cost around 160000 to 163000, funded half by the state and half by Cass and Sarpy counties with tolls until paid. Cass county officers pursued them after being alerted by Union station agents. suspects claimed Kansas City origins and denied theft. Barn Fire Destroys Stable on Morris Stander Farm
A barn on Morris Stander’s West of the City farm burned after a three year old's matches sparked the blaze. One horse died, another was badly burned, and harness and other items were lost. A shed also burned. The house was saved by a change in wind. Loss estimated near $1000, with barn insured. The farm is owned by Plattsmouth State Bank, which had insured the structure.

Elliott Family Escapes Serious Injuries In Iowa Wreck
Mr and Mrs John Elliott and their daughter narrowly escaped serious injuries Sunday when their car was struck on the main highway near Missouri Valley Iowa by a vehicle coming from a side road. The Elliott car suffered a broken wheel and other damage but the occupants were fortunate.
