Work on New Auditorium Advances With Steel Frame Progress
The new community auditorium shows major progress as steel work rises and ceiling joists go in. Brick masons backfill around joists tied into walls for rigidity while 2x8 rafters support a temporary roof. A two coat asphalt roof will be laid for five years water tightness. Inside, concrete floors rise over insulated sleepers with 6500 feet of maple flooring to follow. Parapet walls protect the embankment and will align with future stage construction. The project uses durable steel casements and French windows to maximize light and ventilation.
