Newspaper describes a cold blooded murder at the Goos home near Plattsmouth. Max Ploehn shot Emma Goos and Alma Goos, wounding Emma and killing Alma. the killer fled toward the river as a $500 reward is offered for capture.
An intoxicated jealous man armed with a .38 revolver menaces two defenceless girls in a farmhouse. The incident is described as one of the most terrible crimes in the area, highlighting the dramatic and violent circumstances.
In Plattsmouth Nebraska last Saturday evening Max Ploehn a cousin of the Goos family killed Alma Goos 22 with a pistol shot to the heart after demanding more supper and showing jealousy. Emma Goos was wounded but survived. Ploehn who had lived on the Goos farm for three years was linked to prior trouble with a neighbor and had recently came from Germany. The case is described as premeditated murder with motive jealousy. Mr Nickles fiancé of Alma arrived from Des Moines and Alma planned a Chicago Minneapolis visit before the tragedy.

On Wednesday June 7 1905 at noon Hulda Pauline Brunkow daughter of Mr and Mrs August Brunkow married Solomon Keckler of Manley at the Brunkow home six miles east of Elmwood Reverend Franz J Mueller of Eagle officiated. Over 150 friends attended the lawn ceremony on a decorated platform.
Mrs. Francis Preperchal known as Grandma Janda died Friday morning June 5 1905 at her daughter Mrs James Skoumel Sr home after a brain hemorrhage at age ninety one. Survived by three children James Skoumel Jr Jacob and Lawrence Preperchal Chicago thirty one grandchildren several great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral held Sunday at 4 PM from Premian Catholic church with many friends in attendance.
