From Monday's Daily Lest: a guest at a Plattsmouth home drew a small firearm during a dispute over a lady guest. Sheriff Quinton and Officer Chandler calmed the scene. the weapon was carried concealed and the man faces later questioning by County Attorney A G Cole.
The Eagles defeated the Thirteenth Street All Stars of Omaha in a tight extra inning contest after leading 1 1 until the tenth. Tom McGuire starred with key hits and three runs crossed in the tenth to seal a 4 1 win for the locals Mason pitched well for the Eagles and Newman covered second base with vigor. The All Stars, visiting for the first time, will face the Eagles again on Sunday June 19 in a highly anticipated rematch.
The 6th Street All Stars beat Cedar Creek All Moons 31 to 19 at Cedar Creek. Bennie Rummerfield and Earl Mason hit home runs to spark the local victory.
The Barclay restaurant will close for three or four weeks for repairs and re decoration. Owner Mr Barclay plans floor relaying interior remodeling and other changes to improve comfort for patrons.
Ras mus Petersen a long time Plattsmouth resident brickmason contractor aged seventy eight died Sunday morning. He was a Denmark native who came to America young and lived most of his life in Plattsmouth. He is survived by wife Miss Lauran Davis and one nephew Anton M. Petersen. He was a devout Methodist and active at the church. Funeral services were held this afternoon from his home on High School Hill conducted by Rev. A. V. Hunter. Burial was at Oak Hill cemetery west of the city.
The K S dramatic club staged a Bohemian language comedy The Auctioning of the Pride or The Trial Wife to a packed hall. Joseph Racek directed the production which drew a roaring, delighted audience and plans for another similar show followed by a social dance after the performance due to cold weather.
The overhead bridge on Louisville road west of the city will be rebuilt after county officials, through County Attorney Cole, engaged Missouri Pacific. The railroad company agreed to take steps to ensure the structure is safe and will move to repair promptly, as the bridge lies on a principal highway.

Mrs. Nancy Huartsell McNurlin, a Cass county pioneer and Mt. Pleasant resident for decades, died Saturday in Holton Kansas at age 88. Survived by five children Frank Ottis John Olive and Miles. funeral planned in Nehawka with burial beside husband in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery after arrival of daughter from Canada.
Drury H. Phebus, formerly of Plattsmouth, now with the General Storekeepers at the M. and St. P. railway in Milwaukee, Wis., spent a few hours in the city Monday. He visited his brother Floyd at Creston, Iowa, and noted improving business conditions in the East.
James M. Robertson, born August 4 1851 in Scotland, is described as a veteran Mason and president of the Nebraska Masonic Home association. He arrived in Plattemouth January 10 1872 and has been an active member in Masonic work for forty nine years in Nebraska.

Reports from the west indicate the Platt river is rapidly rising at Denver due to heavy rains. It is expected the river level will rise at this point, though the water volume is not believed to be large enough to cause damage.
Charles S. Johnson, yardmaster of the Burlington in the city, is bedridden at his daughter Mrs. A. W. Props home in Union. He hopes to be up by week’s end. John Cory and Carl Ohlschlager drove down to visit him this morning.
Miss Garnet Cory and Mr. Carl Ohlschlager wed at the Hotel Perkins parlor with Rev. A G H Jowell officiating. The ceremony was simple and attended by the bride’s immediate family. After luncheon the couple left for Omaha and then South Dakota to begin life together.

Mrs Rey Cole of near Mynard has returned from Immanuel hospital in Omaha where she was recovering from an operation. Her husband Mr Cole accompanied her home and the community greets her recovery as the happiest event in months. Neighbors note she is doing nicely and improving in health.
