Serving in the trenches from Plattsmouth

One of the heaviest rain storms of the season
A severe rain storm visited the locality last night and into this morning bringing intense moisture and a torrential downpour. Lightning accompanied showers starting near midnight, flooding Main street and the subway area, and driving cattle to higher ground as streets filled and rivers formed along the city’s low areas. The torrent eased after an hour, washing hillside gardens but causing little other damage.
