Rex Young presided as Judge A H Duxbury spoke on democracy and heritage, reading Civil War and Indian War veteran names as music and readings celebrated Cass County pioneers and a historic nine-stripe thirteen-star flag was shown.

Death of T. W. Vallery Comes Very Suddenly
T W Vallery 78 of Cass county died very suddenly after arriving at his sons office on South Suh street. He had been riding with his son Glenn and wife 2nd returned him to the office where he collapsed. He was married in 1880 to Elizabeth Cook and survived by three sons Frank E Glenn and Charles and Mrs Margie Willis. One brother Henry Vallery and sister Mrs Mary Wright also survive. The body rests at Sattler funeral home.
