Arrest Suspect in Gas siphoning case near park
Last evening as Frank Boetel returned home near the Athletic park he watched two men siphon gas from Mr. Briggs car, leaving behind a gas can and hose. They fled but were pursued. one man was arrested and held, the other rounded up. Officer Herbert Johnson secured the car and took the suspect to jail pending filing of a complaint.

W F Briggs Dies in West After Long Illness
Warren Foote Briggs of Plattsmouth reports the death of W F Briggs born April 15 1861 in Salem Iowa died January 26 1939 in Winton California at about 78. He leaves a wife and son Arthur S Briggs in California. Funeral and burial were held in Atwater California. He was educated in Salem Iowa and worked as a printer before moving to California forty years ago to farm and work as a plasterer and mason. His health failed from cancer treated at home last year.
