Charles Jelinek, formerly of Plattsmouth, is recovering at St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln after being struck by a car Friday night. He sustained a sight fracture but remains conscious and is rallying. son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Jelinek, well known locally.

Carrol died after a short illness at age 1 or 100 unclear in transcription but years after long life, born in Andrew County Missouri, moved to Nebraska then to Waco. married Ida Fravis in 1875. He leaves a widow and five children. Services held at home and church.

Nels Anderson a Nehawka merchant for 19 years died Sunday of pneumonia at his home in Nehawka after heart ailment. Born in Nalmo Sweden in 1864 he came to the United States in 1887 and lived in Nebraska 25 years. He is survived by his wife Lena Rood Anderson a stepson Gur Rood of Sterling Neb a brother Andrew Anderson of Craston Mass and a sister in Sweden. Funeral held this afternoon with Rev R Beckman officiating burial at Mt Pleasant cemetery. Pallbearers were George Hansen Delbert Ewitzer Vilas Sheldon Dan Anderson Albert Johnson and Marcus Nelson.

Porter Dies at Masonic Home After Long Health Battle
Miles A Porter aged 52 died Sunday morning at the Nebraska Masonic Home where he had resided since December 4 1935. Born at Ulysses December 14 1884 the son of early Nebraska settlers he spent his life in central and western regions and ranching and railroading were among his pursuits. He joined Hyannis lodge No 234 in December 1935 and had been in failing health for months.

Frank A. J. Miller, a charter member of the local American Legion post, describes life at the Veterans Home in Wadsworth Kansas near Leavenworth. He notes heavy snow, a growing hospital, and a smallpox quarantine in Ward No 2, with vaccination planned for the hospital. Miller recalls his World War I service, mentions care received, and asks to be remembered by Cass County friends as he remains in the Legion.

Charles B Page 88, long resident of the Nebraska Masonic Home, died Tuesday in the infirmary after a pneumonia illness. Born June 7 1850 in Somerset Maine, he traveled widely before settling in Syracuse Nebraska. He entered the home April 9 1925 from Moriah lodge 7, with Mrs Page who survives but is critically ill. Body taken to Horton funeral home and later to Syracuse for funeral services.

Oldest Mason in Nebraska Dies Here Today
Albert Baker oldest Mason in Nebraska died at the Nebraska Masonic Home after a brief illness. Born September 18 1843 in Manchester Indiana he moved west to cattle buying and farming. He was admitted to the Masonic Home January 15 1929 and received the Jordan gold medal in 1935. Survived by son Albert Paker Jr of Pamora Nebraska. Funeral at Seward with burial at Utica cemetery.
