County residents and school boards filled the county courthouse as hearings began on proposed consolidated school districts. The session focused on districts 1 2 and 9 with officials explaining the law and potential future consolidation while outlining boundaries and schoolhouse sites. Afternoon sessions covered districts 19 11 12 and 21 with participants stressing views on the general plan for establishment.
From Tuesday's Daily, more county school districts were heard on the proposed districts outlined by the redistricting committee. J. M. Teegarden, chairman of the commission, explained the law and the district proposition to voters.
Citizens invited to view the new redistricting law and the methods used. Tomorrow hearings will cover districts around South Bend Murdock Greenwood Alvo Eagte and portions of Lancaster Orne and Saunders counties.
Stockholders of the Cullom Elevator Co. met at a schoolhouse to review 1919 records and elect officers for the year ahead. Officers chosen were President C. T. Peacock, Vice President Louis Born, Secretary H. A. Schneider, Treasurer P. T. Becker, and Director C. W. Stoehr. Business was satisfactory but hampered by grain market conditions and car shortages. A new manager is anticipated to be hired soon.
The county board met at the courthouse to elect C. F. Harris of Union as chairman H J Miller of Alvo and Pitt as junior members. Dr B F Brendel of Murray named county physician and J H Tams reelected county farm superintendent at 1500 dollars yearly. Damages from a bridge incident settled at 175 to Clarissa Clark and 375 to Charles Clark. Appointment of county highway commissioner to follow with multiple applicants.
The death of Sig BR Brown a longtime Cass county resident occurred in Denver on Saturday. Mrs. John Cory niece received word here yesterday morning. Funeral services will be held in Denver at her residence with burial there. Mr and Mrs Cory left for Denver to attend the ceremony.
Cedar Creek Farmers Elevator Co held its annual election on Saturday selecting Henry Horn as President W H Lohnes as Vice President Martin L Friedrich as Secretary John F Albert as Treasurer and directors John Gaver FE Ahi J E Meisinger with Andy Thompson to serve another year as manager The report shows a healthy return to stockholders and bright prospects for the coming year.
Earl Wenry, a young man, was arrested in Omaha Sunday and will be turned over to Lancaster County authorities. He is charged with stealing several automobiles in Lancaster and is wanted in Cass County for a prior theft from Eagle. Sheriff Miller traveled to Omaha to take charge, with a hearing to follow in Lancaster County.
Saturday afternoon voters in district No. 6 east of Murray rejected proposed re districting changes. They voiced opposition to consolidated district No. 6 and the Cass county committee plan. Signatures included Wheeler Meisinger Wheeler Bintner Reinhackel Patterson Beckman Grauf and others.
The Mississippi legislature in Jackson features George Lawson Sheldon, a prominent Nebraska figure. Former Cass County senator and former Nebraska governor, he retired to a Mississippi plantation after 1969 and has since been notably successful in his endeavors.
On a Saturday afternoon in Omaha former Plattsmouth young man George K Murray and Miss Lionsda B Ellis of Omaha were married. The ceremony was small with only the witnesses and the couple present. They will reside in Omaha. Murray is a popular former Plattsmouth youth, son of Mrs. J Murray.
Daily notes Lois Lee, screen star and daughter of former Plattsmouth mayor C. M. Butler, who grew up here and in Lincoln. She has been chosen by William Russell as leading actress in The Lincoln Highwayman, soon to be released. Russell praises her beauty and stage presence as key to her film success.
This morning a marriage license was issued to Rudolph Meisinger of Cedar Creek and Nellie Knutson of Louisville. The couple are well known and popular residents of Eight Mile Grove precinct.
Isaac W Teegarden sues Mrs Alfred Thompson and others in district court seeking to quiet title to real estate in Weeping Water. The action, filed Tuesday, names the parties and requests a judicial determination of ownership.

The Grand Army of the Republic and the Woman's Relief Corps held a joint installation at the courthouse with Thomas W. Glenn and Mrs. George Dodge presiding. Three new Relief Corps members were admitted, a social pie luncheon followed, and Plattsmouth defeated Iowa City in a high‑level game with Clarence Beal refereeing.
Sheriff C D Quinton, head of the Nebraska Sheriffs association, is in Omaha to arrange the state meeting. The association will hold sessions Friday with many law enforcers attending. Douglas county Sheriff Mike Clark plans a large fish dinner to entertain out of state sheriffs as part of the convention.
William Shea Jr is visiting his parents in Alliance Nebraska after a boiler explosion at a potash plant left him with facial burns and eye injuries. Doctors in Omaha expect eye sight to be restored in weeks. Howard Page, another blast victim, is in the city for treatment by Omaha specialists.
From Wednesday's Daily the Glenwood high school gym drew a full crowd of eager basketball fans. The visiting team dominated the contest, overpowering the Glenwood squad in a clear, decisive performance.
The Woodmen Circle held a meeting with supreme officer Mrs. Kate Remington present to explain rate re adjustments. New officers for the year include Mrs. M. E. Manspeaker guardian Mrs. Frank Dunbar past guardian Georgia Matoush advisor Marie FE Kaufmann clerk Marie Swoboda banker Mrs. Martha Bates chaplain Anna Rys and Mrs Trinity attendants Miss Geis and Mrs Heneger sentinels. Mrs. Jesse Brady Miss Nora Kennedy and Mrs. Hankinson managers Mrs. Jesse Brady musician Dr. Flynn and Dr. Westover physicians Mrs Fields captain of drill staff.
Sheriff CG D Quinton received a call from Governor McKelvie to attend a Friday conference in Lincoln. The timing clashes with the planned state meeting of Nebraska sheriffs in Omaha, creating a difficult scheduling conflict for the sheriffs association event.

Cusa Camp No. 232 Modern Woodmen of America schedules a large meeting and initiation class on Wednesday night January 28 with many new members. Deputy W C James from Lincoln assists local officers in organizing, and Head Consul A R Talbot may attend to join Cass Camp. Omaha Camp drill team will demonstrate initiatory degrees, highlighting the order’s work and signaling broad fraternal participation across the country. The local camp has grown into a major city group drawing members from diverse backgrounds as national fraternal storms pass. The night aims to unite numerous camps for a grand initiation event and reinforce the Woodmen's national standing.
