Miss Edith Mays daughter of Mrs. Jennie Mays of Wahoo Nebr wed Jack Figley son of Mr William Figley Massillon Ohio at First Methodist Episcopal church Wahoo after morning sermon Christmas Sunday. Ceremony included Rev Harold Fryant and a full bridal party with matron of honor bridesmaids ushers and a flower girl. After a reception at the bride’s home the couple left for a weeklong wedding trip and will reside in Plattsmouth Nebr where Figley heads the History and Dramatic departments at the high school.

Local Hunters Enjoy Coon and Possum Hunt
A group of area hunters ventured west of the city along Four Mile Creek for a coon and possum hunt. They spent several hours in search but no quarry was captured as the dogs tracked scent multiple times yet did not finish the pursuit. The seven mile outing was deemed a fine experience by all involved.

Afterward the couple went to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ulrich's home near this city to receive relatives and friends. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Ferrie, graduated from Plattsmouth High in 1931 and has lived with her parents on the farm locally. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ulrich of near Mynard, is a young farmer noted for his energy and character. The couple will reside with the Ulrich family for the present.

Funeral of George Schantz Sr. at St Pauls Evangelical
The funeral for George Schantz Sr. was held Wednesday afternoon at St Pauls Evangelical Church where he had long been a member. Rev O G Wichmann offered comfort and tribute to his devoted life and care for his invalid wife who died weeks earlier. The church choir sang beloved hymns and he was laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery beside his wife and son Adam.

Retailers Hold Meeting of Chamber of Commerce
The chamber of commerce retail section held its final year session noting many activities from the year. Reports show events such as Merchant's bargain days corn festival turkey day pancake day and a Santa Claus visit. Members voted to close shops at noon on New Year's Day for a half day.
