A call to set aside a Star Week for community singing across Nebraska cities. Schools churches and centers would host programs inviting all residents to join in song, reviving memories of traditional tunes and enabling public enjoyment of music in schools and churches.
The Hessatii country home near Murray hosted a quiet bridal shower for Miss Elizabeth Kastel, formerly of Weeping Water. Guests enjoyed games, prizes, and a large spread of beans, sandwiches, pickles, fruit, and cake as plans for her wedding to Mr. Frank Waldrick were discussed.
Friends in Plattsmouth recall Mrs. F E Smith III who is seriously ill in an Omaha hospital. Her husband, a former Nebraska Gas & Electric manager, and family recently relocated from Plattsmouth to Omaha.
Mrs Albert Clabaugh received word of the death of his mother Mrs Sarah Francelabaugh in Brattimore Maryland. She had been ill for some time and was past seventy. The son was called to Baltimore and reached her bedside before she passed away.
Arrangements are underway for a Parmele theatre concert featuring the Elks band of the city. The event is set for Thursday evening March 17 with a program of standard and classical pieces plus lighter popular numbers. Prof. Edward H. Scehulhof leads the band of top local musicians in Plattsmouth.

The St Luke's Guild of the Episcopal church gathered yesterday afternoon at Mrs. T. F. Livingston's home. The ladies attending were pleased by the entertaining program and hospitality.
Still quiet sick from Thursday's dates Miss Jessie Moore science teacher at the local high school remains confined at home after ten days of illness and cannot resume teaching. John F. Nelson of Lincoln serves as science teacher during her enforced absence.
In Nebraska City a man faced a pending case and a bond of 500 dollars was posted for his appearance. He appeared to comply but a deputy sheriff read a letter from Pleasanton officers seeking his custody for another marriage and child case. He remains jailed as officers plan to transport him for further proceedings.
Thursday's Daily Glen Perry left for Omaha to visit his son Russell Perry recovering from an appendicitis operation at Ford hospital. Russell is said to be recovering well and expected to be discharged soon. Mrs Glen Perry was operated on yesterday for the removal of her tonsils and the procedure is reported successful with hopes she can return home in a few days.
The Louisville Courier reports complaints to the village board about illegal alcohol selling inside the village. It urges the use of a special detective to inspect residents for signs of indulgence and suggests following the evidence with Holmesian methods to locate those involved.
