Missionary talk on China at Presbyterian church

A small crowd heard A. J. Fitch recount seventeen years of missionary work in China at a Friday lecture by the Presbyterian women’s missionary society. Mrs. Fitch, returning from Shantung, shared vivid Chinese life and beliefs as music from the choir augmented the event. Kennedy's Laxative Cough Syrup advertisement appeared in the program.

William Schildknecht A Pioneer Doctor Dies At 70 In Plattsmouth

Dr. William Henry Schildknecht, age 70 years, 7 months, 25 days, died February 21 1907 at his home in Plattsmouth Cass County Nebraska. A pioneer physician and farmer, he moved from Indiana to Nebraska in 1861, practiced nearly fifty years, and was active in the United Brethren and Methodist churches. Funeral services were held February 25 1907 at the Plattsmouth Methodist church with Masonic rites and burial at Eikenburg cemetery.

Bridges Waives Hearing in Family Court Case

John P Bridges charged with family mistreatment and raping his daughter appeared in county court this afternoon. He waived the preliminary hearing and was bound over to district court in bond of 21000, with surety to be provided and release likely once arrangements are completed. Nebraska City News

Runaway Buggy Crash Invades Main Street injures none

Around noon Sunday a buggy with Mrs Chris Tschirren and daughter Miss Mary crashed after a frightened horse sped along Main Street near the Methodist church. The buggy struck a telephone pole tearing off a wheel. occupants escaped with severe shaking, while the horse and wrecked buggy lay near the steam laundry on Lincoln Avenue.

Plattsmouth Senior Debating Team Loses Close Way to Wahoo

The Plattsmouth High Senior debating club lost a tight match to Wahoo High Athenian club in a debate held Saturday. Westram of Wahoo won top individual honors with Bates of Plattsmouth second and Anderson of Wahoo third. The judges were FE McGee of Ashland Colin of Fremont Normal and Maynard of Fremont. The topic was federal control and operation of railroad systems. After the debate, Wahoo hosted a reception for the visitors.

Singular accident near Murray injures Grandpa Cline

A report from Murray describes Grandpa Cline three miles northeast of town who experienced severe arm cramps while dressing Saturday morning. Muscles tore from their upper attachments creating pain swelling and bruising. He cannot raise his arms but remains otherwise comfortable.
