Golden wedding anniversary observed quietly at Lamoni Iowa home by Mr and Mrs Sam Kline longtime Plattsmouth and Murray residents. Miss Margaret Knapp married Sam Kline Feb 24 1887 at her parents home in Plattsmouth by Rev Mullis First Christian. They have five daughters two sons deceased and eight grandchildren.

Executive Board Meets Cass County Federated Clubs

The Cass County federated clubs executive board gathered at Mrs Elmer Sundstroms home to plan the year. They adopted the motto Education for Better Living for the county and sent notices about annual dues. Evelyn Wolph of Nehawka received commendation for 4 H leadership. attendees included Marjorie Zink Murdoch Lawrence Meisinger Union and Everett Spangler.

The Plattsmouth Rotary Club marked ten years since its founding with a banquet at the Hotel Plattsmouth. Dr. Larimore Denise of Omaha lectured on Petra the Lost City, slides shown in color, and Roy Knorr H G McClusky John Frady Frank Croidt led a quartet. Sixty attended including Ray Kingsley and Martha Bates. Charter members listed. club opened January 20 1927 and now has 181 members.

Nebraska City official meets to discuss center cooperation

Dale Bartlett of Nebraska City supervised Cass and Otoe counties recreational program visits the city to interview the local committee about center projects. He and John P. Sattler with Judge A. H. Duxbury and L. S. Devoe met the city council to discuss city cooperation in the Center’s work.

Janda Returns Home After Cataract Operation

Cyril Janda, longtime community resident, returned home from Omaha where doctors performed cataract removal surgery. The operation was very successful and a short rest is expected before he resumes his normal activities. Mrs. Vincent Slatinsky of Sedalia Missouri visited earlier but has returned home as the father recovers.

John Fitzpatrick Sr. Dies at Home in Weeping Water

John Fitzpatrick senior, father of John and James Fitzpatrick of Union, who had been ill for some time, died last Saturday at his home in Weeping Water. The funeral was held at the Hobson Funeral Home in Weeping Water. The family attended the service Tuesday.

The Ladies Aid of the Methodist church met last week at Mrs Addicross home. Mrs Cross was assisted by Mesdames Fannie Eikenbarg and Wm Barvitt in entertaining. A large crowd attended and the group did substantial work for the church.

Alice Hiatt was named president of the Westminster Guild at the election of officers. Gertrude Veallery is vice president Marie Vallery secretary and Ruth Warga treasurer.
