Born February 20, 1858 in Hamburg he arrived in the U.S. at age fifteen and settled in Plattsmouth in 1879. He married Alice Oliver in 1882 and the couple celebrated their golden wedding last year. Attending were Ramge, Jr., A. O. Ramee and families, and Leonard Meisinger of Omaha.

Ss. S. Gooding of this city completed a southwest journey and reached El Paso Texas. He found Little Rock Arkansas pleasant but the staked plains region of Texas barren deserts and sage brush. He noted El Paso as large and fine yet hard to navigate due to crooked streets. He visited Jaraze across the river from El Paso and described a colorful population and lively Mexican city life. He plans to return to Fort Worth then proceed to Laredo and cross into Mexico City.

Dismiss Action Against Charles Grassman Today
In county court this morning the case against Charles Grassman of Louisville was dismissed at the request of his wife and the Miller family. The matter was settled by agreement with no costs payable. Grassman was released on a peace bond of 1000 dollars valid for one year, signed by Grassman and his grandfather C F Wheeler.

Trucking Trailer Fire Destroys Household Goods
The McMahen Trucking Co. suffered a loss of about $1,000 when a trailer loaded with furniture burned en route from this city to Omaha. The blaze destroyed the trailer and all contents, including the household effects of John N Beck and family. Ren McMahen estimates repair and replacement costs will reach at least $1,000.

Validity of City Warrants in State Court
In a state supreme court session on Tuesday the case A L Tidd versus John E Kirkham city treasurer of Plattsmouth was argued and submitted. Tidd seeks to block interest or principal payments on about 18000 in warrants issued for a Granite street viaduct and a road to the Missouri river bridge. The district court favored the city and upheld the warrants as legal. The supreme court will decide if the warrants remain valid and determine further city actions as floating indebtedness.
