Leg Broken in Fight in Plattsmouth Near Miller Hotel
George Jacks of Plattsmouth suffered a fractured right leg in a Sunday fight in front of the Miller hotel at Twenty sixth and O streets. Police found him on the pavement unable to rise. his 17 year old son Ralph nearby. Neither could identify the attackers or explain how the brawl began. Jacks was taken to St Catherine's hospital.

Lad Leaves With Coat After Cafe Foster Work
A sixteen or seventeen year old lad stayed at the Royal cafe and did odd jobs for Harry Leosis of Athens. The boy disappeared after two companions arrived and Leosis found his fur collar coat missing. Toll keepers reported the youth crossing the Platter river bridge heading north wearing the coat.

Cut Down Judges Set For County Election Boards
A new state law caps the number of election board judges at two per major party for primary and general elections. The funeral for John Monroe, a Civil War veteran and longtime Plattsmouth resident, was held today at First Methodist Church. Monroe, born April 1 1825 in Shelby County Indiana, died February 18 1928 from injuries after a fall.

Catholic Daughters Host Large Supper at Community Hall
A large crowd attended Wednesday evening’s supper at the American Legion community building hosted by the Catholic Daughters of America. The menu featured chop suey and chow mein and decorations used purple and gold with sweet peas and Japanese parasols. The event, chaired by Miss May Murphy, ran from 5:30 PM and raised a neat sum, with the boys orchestra including Robert Hall Ward Egenberger Marvin Triteeh Donald Cotner and Robert Hiregar performing several numbers.
