Engine number 568 used on the Sioux City Plattsmouth run went wrong at the Main street crossing while being moved to the round house. It tore up the crossing and left the rails, forcing the night force and section men to work about two hours to refit the big locomotive.

Yesterday morning the year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Piper died after a period of grippe and tonsolitis complications. The funeral was held this afternoon with interment at Oak Hill cemetery near their home by the A. O. U. W. hall neighborhood.

Lincoln reports total state expenditures for 1905 and 1906 amounting to 3 831 514 56 excluding university supreme court district courts and legislative costs. At Papillion today the Louisville case a Cass versus Sarpy counties is tried regarding the bridge across the Platte at Louisville. County attorney C A Rawls is there coordinating with County Clerk Rosecrans and Commissioner J P Polter who are to testify for the county. They left by fast mail to Papillion to appear as witnesses.
