Eastern Nebraska schools gathered in this city for a district declamatory contest at the high school and Central buildings. Funeral services for Charles Renner were held Sunday afternoon at the family home in the west part of the city. Dr. H. G. McClusky of the First Presbyterian church led the service. Frank A. Cloidt and Miss Estelle Baird sang two of Renner’s favorite hymns, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and Nearer My God to Thee. Interment followed at Oak Hill cemetery.
