Legion to Tender Greetings to New Members

Hugh J. Kearns post of the American Legion held a well attended meeting at the Leonard building club rooms. The post split into two sides in the 1924 membership drive and enrolled many new members to support unity and aid for World War veterans. A large March meeting was planned to welcome newcomers, with committees formed for entertainment refreshments stunts and activities.

Pleasant Fourth Wedding Anniversary Observed at Webb Home

Louis F. Langhorst of Elmwood filed for the Democratic nomination for state treasurer. The Elmwood merchant, longtime party worker, has strong local backing and previously chaired county and state committees. Mr E Lyman from Yale South visited Plattsmouth and vicinity last week staying with Mrs Lymans parents Mr and Mrs PD A Young south of town. He traveled to Omaha with a car of sheep marking the eighth stock shipment to South Omaha since fall. Lyman and Young praised the boom in their part of the state and predicted bright prospects for sugar beets and a large nearby sugar factory.
