At O J Gaebel’s farm five miles southwest of Louisville a brood sow sale drew a modest crowd yet strong bidding. Purchasers from Elwood Gretna Nehawka Water loo So Bend Omaha and other towns bought sows and two bulls at 40 each. Journal representative noted Gaebel’s fine farm and Charley Gaebel described as among Cass County’s nicest men.

A quiet wedding took place at the Meisinger residence seven miles west of Plattsmouth on February 10, 1903. Miss Clara Elizabeth Meisinger wed Ed J. Tritsch with Rev. Spreigel of Weeping Water officiating. The small ceremony drew a few invited guests and both families are well regarded in Cass County.
Hon. William Deles Dernier of Elmwood leads a public effort to free Chester Deles Dernier a 19 year old who enlisted as a landsman in the U S Navy and deserted. Dernier and allies filed for habeas corpus in federal court with Judge Munger to determine if a minor may enlist without parental consent and if parents may reclaim him from service.
An advertisement touts Kodolys popala Cure claiming to digest and rebuild the stomach and promises immediate relief for indigestion. It asserts no other mixture can digest and rebuild simultaneously and urges readers to try it, listing FG Fricke & Co as the seller and mentioning related cigar branding.
The Nebraska supreme court defines a county judge as having the same deposition taking powers as a notary public and the authority to commit a witness for refusing to testify. The Webster county judge in Olmstead v Edson ordered deposition attendance, jailed the noncomplying couple, and was upheld on a general demurrer.

Star Lodge No 4 of the Order tendered a grand reception to Grand Chief of Hanor Mrs Mary Lathy and grand recorder Miss Hempel at the Hassler home. Guests in the receiving line included Mrs Hassler and Miss Anna Hassler. The lodge later met at the Ancient Order of United Workmen Hall with a large turnout and banquet to close.
