Mrs. Katherine Busch a mother of thirteen children passed away after a three week illness at her daughter Mary Laudenschlager’s home in Palmer Nebraska. Born February 21 1838 in Switzerland she immigrated to the United States in youth and settled near Jock Island Illinois before moving to Cedar Creek Nebraska. Survived by twelve children including Mary Laudenschlager Anna Zimmerman Margaret Hagmann Katie Hewitt Ida Brodie Emma Mecafaken Rosie Kelly Mathilde Jardine and others funeral at Union Church near Waldradt cemetery conducted by Rev J H Stager with pallbearers Christ Gower Otto Spreich Thomas Pennant John Lohnes Phillip Schaefer and A B Fornosi.

Children Taken To Lincoln In State Custody
The Banek family long observed living in a camouflaged manner in the town por tion faced county court action. The parents and five children from nine to two years old were found ill clad and dirty but well fed. The state adopted the children and Sheriff Quinton transported them to Lincoln for placement in the state children’s home.

Brother Dies in Texas Air Camp
Miss Florence Buck of Gibbon arrived to visit her sister Mrs. G E De Wolf when they learned their brother Bradley Buck died at Kelly Field near San Antonio Texas from spinal meningitis. The body was sent to Gibbon for interment as Superintendent DeWolf his wife and Miss Buck prepared to attend the funeral. Buck had recently visited during enlistment in the aviation corps in December.
