Alma Rainey 69 Dies After Stroke in Cass County
Mrs. Alma Rainey widow of W H Rainey age 69 died Monday afternoon at the home of her daughter Mrs Earl Becker northwest of Plattsmouth after a severe stroke Saturday. Born October 29 1868 near Peru she taught near Murray before marrying in 1898. Survived by six children Merle Rainey NYC Mrs Floyd Becker Mrs Earl Becker Isabel Rainey Plattsmouth Donald Rainey and Mrs Jack Hart Omaha with seven Parriott siblings also surviving. Interment Oak Hill cemetery beside her husband.

The westbound death of Ida MecNatt formerly Miss Ida Warstadt is reported from Sacramento California. She had lived west for two years and no health news had been received locally until a mortician’s message in Sacramento inquiring about relatives. Family members returned to seek details. a brother Henry Warstadt was last known to be in Stockton California and attempts were made to contact him.

Funeral of Frank Lepert at Holy Rosary Church
The funeral services for Frank Lepert were held Saturday at Holy Rosary church in the west part of the city. A large crowd of old friends attended the Requiem Mass by Father J. R. Sinkula with the choir. Burial followed at the Catholic cemetery with pallbearers from among the family and local men. Survived by his widow, two sons Phillip and James, three daughters Mary Hafka Rose Krejer of Omaha and Frances Simon of Oakland California.

Minnie Stokes a former Cass county resident and Calgary church worker died Friday at age 70 after a long illness. Born in Rexville Indiana she moved to Plattsmouth in 1888 then Chestermere in 1910. She leaves husband William H daughter Mrs E B Higley son Roy and three grandchildren. Funeral at Jacques chapel Calgary with burial at Bursland cemetery.

Death of Mrs. J. B. Higley in Council Bluffs
Mrs. J. B. Higley aged 77 died Saturday night at 11 59 at the home of her son J R Elledge in Council Bluffs after a period of failing health. Born Catherine Richardson in North Carolina on March 7 1861 she moved with her family to Mills County Iowa and grew up there. She married W S Eledge on July 3 1875 and later wed James B. Higley of this city. Surviving are five children J R Bledge Council Bluffs Mrs J J Homan Omaha Mrs Lee Johnson Auburn Mrs George Barr Plattsmouth and W H Bledge Omaha. twenty five grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. two brothers and two sisters. Funeral was held this afternoon at Sattler funeral home conducted by Dr H G McClusky with pallbearers including six grandsons. Burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
