The Cass county treasurer's office reports a surge of 1926 auto and truck license applications ahead of February 1. The new law requiring tax payment before license issuance has increased revenue and clerical work, with 3,200 licenses issued so far and more owners yet to obtain licenses. Sheriff Homer Sylvester has set February 1 as the deadline to secure new licenses, or risk penalties for operating under old 1925 licenses.

High School Music Program Delights Evening Audience
The high school music department presented a delightful program in the auditorium to a large audience. Director Hoyt Griffin praised the students as they performed with notable skill.
