Fine Christmas Celebration At Masonic Home
On Christmas day residents of the Masonic Home enjoyed a festive celebration organized with help from Masonic and Eastern Star lodges. A decorated tree, gifts, a feasting menu including roast turkey and mince pie, and an afternoon concert by the Methodist junior choir filled the day with cheer for Supt. Snipe Hunters Come Alive After Long Slumber in Plattsmouth
A group of young farmers near Plattsmouth planned a snipe hunting expedition. They assigned Henry Lerner to hold the sack while others waited in the field. The prank ended with Lerner returning home, realizing he was the target of a practical joke. James Higley Sentenced to Ten Years for Forgery

Sudden Death of J W Vallery Shocks Community
Jacob W W Vallery died reportedly of heart failure after a walk up Rheek street. Found near Beech and Eleventh by Anne Tyler, his body was taken to the home of P J Vallery and funeral services set for 2 PM at Oak Hill cemetery. He was born in 1855 in Waverly Ohio and resided in Case county Nebraska. Surviving family includes two daughters and several siblings. Reverend D L Dunkieberser to officiate.
