A large crowd joined in a Christmas carol sing at the American Legion community building on Sunday afternoon. Sponsored by the Plattsmouth Woman’s Club music department, and aided by the Chamber of Commerce and American Legion, the event featured the club chorus and a new men’s glee club, directed by Mrs. E. H. Wescott. Rev H G McClusky gave the invocation and reading of the Christmas story, with local schoolchildren and notable soloists performing, including Jimmy Begley and a trio led by Mrs. Woolcott.

Monday evening Mr and Mrs H F Wilcox were returning from Lincoln when their Ford coupe collided with a westbound automobile on the oO street road. Mrs Wilcox suffered a leg fracture and both cars were badly damaged. they were kept in Lincoln for treatment and repairs.

Impressive Nativity Scenes At First Methodist Service
Last evening at the First Methodist church six prophecy scenes depicting the coming of Christ, the Nativity, and Adoration were presented. Mrs. William Baird read, Miss Helen Wescott led the vocal offerings, and E. H. Wescott accompanied on organ. The Y M B C of the Sunday school arranged the feature, which was well received.

Christmas at the Masonic Home 1928 Christmas Eve
The Masonic Home in Plattsmouth hosted a festive Christmas Eve with red and green decorations, a long gift walk from Plattsmouth Lodge No. 6 and Vesta chapter No. 6, and a program of music and readings led by Frank Cloidt. Santa distributed gifts, including a quilt promised by Vesta chapter, as residents thanked Supt. Evers and Matron Mrs. Lawton for arrangements.

Last Services for John L Tidball Sr.
Last rites were held for John L Tidball Sr a respected Crete and Plattsmouth resident. The service at his late home was followed by funeral in Crete with interment at Riverview Cemetery. Tidball was a pioneer businessman a Doane College trustee and founder of the First National Bank of Crete. He died Friday aged 75 with a large family and many descendants.

Death of Mrs John Klimm at Avoca
Mrs John Klimm aged seventy one died Monday night at 11 20 at her Cass county home north of Avoca after a long illness. She lived in Cass county for 39 years and leaves many friends. Death of George W. Shields Ends Long Farming Life
George W. Shields died yesterday at his Murray area home at 3 pm after a several day illness tied to flu complications. Born January 26 1857 in Martinsville Indiana he moved with family to Grenwood Iowa at age 13 and later to Nebraska then Murray where he farmed a long time. Unmarried he leaves eight siblings and is the last of his family. Funeral Wednesday at 3 pm from Sattler funeral home with Rev Stewart of Murray Presbyterian Church officiating.

Creamery Begins Butter Production in City
