Popular Young People Wedded Thanksgiving at Local Office

Miss Mary Jane Lindeman and Gerald W. Shrader wed at Judge Charles L. Graves office on Thanksgiving afternoon. The couple, both of Cass county families, were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Christy. The bride, a Plattsmouth High School graduate of 1935, works for H. M. Soennichsen Co. The groom, a Nehawka High School graduate of 1935, later joined Norfolk Packing Company in this city. They left for Kansas City for a brief visit before settling down locally.

Sedgways Revisit Old Friends in California

Mr and Mrs Jack Sedgway of Lincoln returned home from a Los Angeles visit and Thanksgiving stopovers. They met old friends including Claus Speck and A T Fitt family figures in Hollywood and Buena Park where Mrs Hesse, sister to Mr Sedgway, serves as president of the Grand Avenue school IT. Harold Fitt works as a Pacific Telephone executive.

Plattsmouth High Opens Basketball Workouts Underway

Plattsmouth High begins preliminary basketball workouts for the season with Monday sessions and runs through the vacation week. Coach Robert has many trialists and a strong core from returning lettermen led by captain Jack Forbes and players Raymond Wooster Mason Wall Max Seitz and Joe Hendrix.

Nebraska Huskers Win Last-Minute Triumph Over Aggies

Plattsmouth residents watched Nebraska edge Nebraska Oregon Aggies 26 to 20 in Lincoln for the final game of the season. A last minute Husker drive from their 35 yard line capped the comeback after the Aggies led 20 to 19 in the closing moments.

Miss Jean Fitch and Mr. Clifford Troy Jewell were married at the home of County Surveyor and Mrs. Robert D. Fitch Jr. in a simple Methodist ceremony conducted by Rev. W. C. Wright. The couple will reside in Scottsbluff where Jewell works as a salesman. both are graduates of 1929 and from prominent local families.

Funeral of Mark Furlong Cass County Resident

Funeral services for Mark Furlong lifetime Cass County resident were held at 2 p.m. at Streight funeral home Oak Street. Dr. H G McClusky of First Presbyterian delivered the gospel message. Frank A Cloidt offered two songs and Mrs H F Goos accompanied. Interment followed at Rock Bluffs cemetery. Hershel Furlong of Denver and James Furlong, his brother, arrived Thursday for the services.

Thanksgiving Service Held at First Methodist Church

Community gathered Wednesday evening at the First Methodist church for a Thanksgiving service. The event opened with an organ prelude by E H Wesecott, included singing of America, the presidential proclamation read by Rev Wright, readings by Canon Potter, prayers by Rev G A Pahl, and a guest address by Rev W C Wright. Proceeds supported local relief efforts.

Finish Damage Suit in Bloom Case

The damage suit of Ray Herold versus M R Bloom closed after jurors received instructions and retired to deliberate. Judge Livingston excused the jury until Monday as the wagon truck collision case resumes with returns to Nebraska City over the weekend. verdict expected at Monday morning session.

Conoco to Erect New Service Station in Plattsmouth

A Conoco service station will be built at Chicago and Granite streets in Plattsmouth after authorization by Continental Oil. The project moves a Lincoln building to the vacant site, costing several thousand dollars, with labor by local workers. The site aims to improve transit traffic on East West Highway No. 34 and brighten the city approach.

Weeping Water Couple Tour Chicago Bound for Son's Law School

Attorney C. E. Tefft and Mrs. Tefft of Weeping Water visited the city. Mrs. Tefft left for No. 6 over the Burlington to Chicago and will stay with her son Sheldon Tefft who is connected with the University of Chicago law school. Mr. Tefft returned home to handle his legal business.

Mynard Community Club Elects Officers for Year

The Mynard Community club elected C A Wetenkamp as president and elected officers for the year including Raymond Cook as retiring president, Mrs Myron Wiles as vice president, Mrs Herman Meisinger as secretary and E H Spaneler as treasurer. Membership grew from 26 to 223 families and an oyster supper followed with entertainment by School District No 3's rhythm band led by Mrs Chester Wiles and Emerson Wiles.
