Local Young People In Auto Crash Near Warn er Farm
Late Wednesday night a Ford V eight driven by Gilbert Hirz overturned on the Louisville road east of the Warn er farm. Hirz and his companion Miss Mary Ann Highfield escaped with severe bruises and shock after being found safe at Cedar Creek road school house and walking into town. Local sheriff and friends rushed to the scene but soon learned the pair were not seriously harmed.

Cass County Chickens Fetch High Prices for Spring Hatchlings

Plattsmouth Recreation Band Delights Crowd at Garfiel d Park
Plattsmouth's recreation band under Peter Gradeville gave its first concert at Garfield Park last evening. Twenty two pieces were performed to an enthusiastic turnout with strong applause. Gradeville plans to raise enrollment to forty and move junior members toward the senior band. Another concert is set for court house lawn Saturday at 8 p m with requests including Yankee Rhythm Blue Hawaii and Superba Overture. If success continues two concerts weekly are planned through the summer.

Birthday Celebration for Alice Barbara Wiles
On Sunday evening Mrs. C L Wiles hosted a buffet supper honoring her daughter Alice Barbara on her twentieth birthday. The dining room was decorated with dahlias zinnias and phlox and a birthday cake from her grandmother Mrs Carolyn Cole crowned the table. Afterward guests played croquet on the lighted lawn in the cool evening.

Concrete Pouring Begins at River Dock Project
Concrete forms are set for a section of the Missouri river dock east of town as pouring starts soon. The east wall extends to a rock bank and runways will reach the water edge to connect with steamers then traffic begins. The 200 foot warehouse will adjoin the dock and a temporary waterfront road will later be replaced by a permanent road with an overhead city link. The project draws much local interest recalling streamboat days on the riverfront.

Lee Meyers newly elected supervisor of music at Plattsmouth high school urges students who have band experience to enroll in the Plattsmouth Recreational band. Senior and junior bands, directed by Peter Gradville, have had a fine season and now seek broader training.
