Funeral services for Dr Charles R Kennedy longtime Plattsmouth native and Omaha surgeon were held at the First Methodist church in Omaha on Tuesday afternoon. Hundreds of Nebraska and Iowa physicians nurses and former patients attended with rail road hospital staff and Union Pacific Ward nurses among mourners. Rev H E Hess praised Kennedy for giving skill and time to those who could not pay and his work with interns and nurses. Interment followed at Forest Lawn cemetery.

MATTRESS SET FIRED AT FORT CROOK JAIL
Fort Crook soldier and boxer Charles Middaugh was arrested for intoxication and jailed. He allegedly set fire to a mattress inside the city jail, causing a disturbance before being moved to the county jail. Fort Rock officers took custody to handle the case later.

Cemetery Project To Start Monday At Oak Hill
Mayor George Lushinsky announced a WPA project to build a tool house and office for the Oak Hill cemetery. The work will employ about thirty to forty people off and on, using brick from the city supply and salvaged lumber. The building will store equipment and provide an office for the superintendent and a place for lot owners to obtain information.

Drunken Driving Man arraigned in county court
Saturday's Dany Ralph Surface of near Union was arraigned on operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. State highway patrol filed the complaint after picking him up on the highway south of the city. Judge A H Duxbury sentenced him to thirty days in jail and a one year license loss.

Charles Wolfe Dies After Short Illness in Cass County
Charles W. Wolfe 5, longtime Cass county resident, died Thursday night after a several day illness thought to be a stroke from overheating while farm chores were being done. Born in Liberty precinct in 1867, he farmed most of his life and lived on the present farm since 1914 with his wife Lulu Shrader Wolfe. He leaves two brothers, William Wolfe of California and Wesley Wolfe near Brush Colorado. Funeral set Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the family home with Lewiston cemetery interment. Bicycle Pedestrian Crash Leaves 13 Year Old Hurt

Reserve officer joins training camp at Fort Crook
