A caravan of seventeen cars moved through the city and drew the attention of Chief Joe Libershal who ordered the group to depart. The travelers said they planned to meet in Omaha to elect a new tribal chief and then head to the west coast for wintering, with most cars coming from Indiana and a few from Iowa.

Offiers Raid Licenses Under State Liquor Law
Sheriff Homer Sylvester and Deputy Tom Walling led a raid on the Gus Whitely home after receiving buys under the state liquor license law. Officers found beer two pints of the old time moonshine and a pint of alcohol. The defendant was taken in by Chief Libershal before the raid.

Miss Alice Funk daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Funk is home for a vacation visit with family and friends. Death of Well Known Resident of Louisville
Ernest Gottlieb Pautsch born October 1862 in Mayville Wisconsin died July 25 1935 at age 72 years 9 months 17 days from a heart ailment. Survived by daughter Lydia of Louisville brother Gustav and sister Mrs Podewel. He came to Nebraska in 1882 lived near Louisville before moving into town. He married Amanda Lau in 1888 and had two daughters Laura and Lydia. Laura died in infancy. He was longtime elevator manager respected for honesty and trustworthiness and played violin with cousin A C Pautsch bearing tunes from Wisconsin. He was active in Immanuel Lutheran church life and local councils. Funeral services held at Immanuel Lutheran Church last Saturday.

Robert G Reed became suddenly ill on Thursday afternoon and was rushed to Lincoln for emergency surgery at the U S Veterans hospital for acute appendicitis. He had felt unwell several days and, while with friends at home, was urged to seek hospital care. Fred Herbster and Fred Lugsch transported him. he was operated on upon arrival and, at the latest reports, was recovering well.

Injured Webb Boys Stay Home From Activities
At the E. A. Webb residence on North Sun Street two sons, James and Robbie, are confined by injuries. James sustained a leg injury from a raft incident while swimming and fears arose about possible bone damage. Robbie sprained his left ankle while playing with friends. Both are on the retired List and unable to continue normal activities.

Damage suits filed in district court over $19,000
In the district court this morning three actions for damages totaling $19,000 were filed. Plaintiffs include Mrs. Mae Bushnell seeking $7,000 for injuries from an accident involving a Bushnell car and a Beatty driven vehicle. Charlotte Tracy seeks $5,000 for injuries after being thrown from the Bushnell car. Marie Kinnamon seeks $7,000 for scalp wounds and other injuries from the same incident. Defendants include H A Beatty, R A Beatty, A U Brown Milling Co., and Eugene Bushnell is noted as owner of the car.

CMTC Opens at Fort Crook for Thirty Days
The Citizens Military Training Camp at Fort Crook opened Thursday with about 450 recruits arriving to begin a thirty day program. Recruits are sorted into blues whites reds and basics, undergo physicals, receive uniforms and assignments, and start daily drill and classroom schedules under Col. Sutherland and reserve officers. Death of C B Bemis Linked to Local Power Firm
The death of C B Bemis, 41, a longtime Iowa Nebraska Light and Power Co. employee, occurred Tuesday at the U S Veterans hospital in Lincoln after an appendicitis operation. Funeral held yesterday in Crete Nebraska. He leaves a widow and three children. A cousin, Miss Hudson, manager of the gas department at Crete, also died from appendicitis, with funeral services set for Crete today, shockingly close in time to Bemis’s passing.

Auto Wreck Case Attracts Many to Court
The State of Nebraska charged R. A. Beatty of Auburn with driving while intoxicated after a July 30 1935 accident in the city.
