Musical Glass Recital Highlights Local Students

From Tuesday's Daily the pupils of Miss Kittie Cummins presented a Saturday recital at her Ninth and Pearl studio. Afternoon showcases featured younger classes with selections from basic music principles and numerous pieces by Lillian Gaummins Ruth Moffat and Clara Trinity among others. Evening performances by advanced students offered a refined program of masterworks including Canzonetta Valse Gentile and The Nightingale, with notable duets and a Military Fanfare trio.

Isbell Condition Improves After Illness

N. H. Isbell, taken seriously ill about a week ago, shows slight improvement. He is able to be about briefly though his limbs have not fully regained function. Family and friends hope he will soon recover and resume duties.

Busy dealer ships fruit trees despite wind storm

P B Ruffner was one of the busiest men in town today despite the wind storm sending out extra orders for fruit trees to the Stark Brothers nursery at Louisiana Missouri. He has been very successful this season in securing orders from farmers and town people, and a large number of fine trees will be set out here this season.

Two Die and Eleven Hurt as Train Plows Station

In Hoytville Ohio an accident at midnight involving the Baltimore and Ohio River No. 6 halted by an open switch killed two men and injured eleven passengers. The train derailed and toppled. one victim and three injured were in the Hoytville station when struck.

Pitman Visits Town After Long Recovery

J W Pitman of near Union visited the county seat on Monday, returning after months away. The 80 year old man suffered a severe hip injury when a horse fell on him, leading to slow recovery with crutches after extended bed rest and confinement.

Missouri River Ferry Cable Breaks near Burlington Bridge

This morning the Missouri River ferry experienced a cable break below the Burlington bridge. The worn line snapped during a crossing, the boat drifted, but ferrymen guided it to shore and docked at the ferry house. Operator Mr. Doty will replace the cable and return the boat to service with safety assurances. No injuries occurred. passengers enjoyed a brief unexpected ride.

Journal Correction: Cook and Peterson Wed in Council Bluffs

Frank E. Cook of Havelock and Miss Anna M. Peterson of Pen der Nebraska were married in Council Bluffs. Reports from Plattemouth had announced their marriage weeks earlier, but the source proved unreliable. The couple arrived in Havelock Tuesday and lodged in a double house at 17th and O streets.

Former Plattsmouth Resident Visits from Iowa

Fr O Hinshaw formerly of Downing Missouri now living in Tabor Iowa arrived in Plattsmouth last night for a few days visiting old friends. He learned the thunder business in Plattsmouth and with his father ran a lumber company in Downing until two years ago. He is staying with J J Richoy and will travel to Mynard to visit old friends Hon BK Metefier and others.

Cosmopolitan Club Carnival Ball at Coates Hall

Three Injured by Team in Blawood Incident

A Blawood dispatch dated April 22 reports Mr and Mrs Attchisson thrown from a buggy when a frightened horse team ran away. They fell near Joseph Mullen's home, injuring Mrs Attchisson seriously while Mr Attchisson and Mrs Mullen's mother were knocked to the ground. Nate sustained scratches and bruises.
