Court Rules for Father in Habeas Corpus Case
The court granted the writ of habeas corpus and placed nine year old Paul Lemke with his father William Lemke a wealthy Lancaster county farmer. The boy had been living with his aunt Mrs Anna Guthmann in this city and was taken to Lincoln earlier. The decision ends the guardianship of the aunt and orders immediate removal to the father's home.

Plattsmouth Man Charles Searl Dies in Kansas
Charles H. Searl formerly of Plattsmouth and longtime Leavenworth resident died about two weeks ago in Leavenworth Kansas. He was fifty and served in the First Nebraska Infantry during the Spanish American War and Philippine campaigns. He spent his later years at the National Home for Disabled Veterans and was buried in the Leavenworth cemetery. He was brother to A. M. Searl of Plattsmouth and Miss Addie Sears of Leavenworth who sent the news.
